With the continued success of Zirakzigil in turning the critics heads, and winning the Portland Metal Olympics (thus procuring the grand prize, the free replication of their next album, which they are currently working on) and the steady growth of their fan base, the live shows just keep being offered, which Zirakzigil are happy to heed the call for. Of course, as all the other shirts and the SNES tape are long out of print, the band can hardly play with an empty merch table, as after most performances, many of those present demand another fix.
Not being the type simply to reissue something, the discussion of a reissue with Zirakzigil led to the usual one-upmanship that makes one of our releases more than simply just a release. Thus, we now present "Battle Of the Peak" in CD form, on a hand stamped disc made of purple polycarbonate substrate, and packaged in handmade and numbered (in an edition of 99) boxes, and emblazoned with new art, again conceptually tied to classic video games.
In relation to that stylistic ethos, the CD version of the Battle Of The Peak demo also contains a bonus version of "The Endless Stair", entirely recreated (down to the smallest detail) electronically, in a way that is incidentally a high water mark for the genre known as chip tune, while still containing the whole spectrum of sound from pounding low end to crackly highs.
